Sad news
This morning after running some errands I started up my car in a parking lot at it ran really rough at idle with the steering wheel shaking a little bit. It was unusual but it composed itself and ran well on the ride home
When I got home my friend asked if I wanted to go wash my car at another friend's house. I told him i'd meet him there. I went down to my TL and tried to start it but as soon as it started it ran rough like it had before and then stalled. I started it 4-5 times after that and it stalled right out each time. It is sitting dead in the parking lot right now. I can see it RIGHT NOW.
I'm gonna get it towed to the dealer this week to see what is wrong with it.
As a note, I noticed that the maintainance required light flashed when I turned it on for the first few seconds, then it shut off. I'm not sure if this has anyting to do with it but it may.
Well, like I said, its sad news.

alrighty this is the warm start issue i believe, while you were out running errands (the first time) did you beat on the car at all? like high reving spirit driving?

I don't think it's the tranny. It's probably the starter and since the lights are working I don't think it's the alternator either. Good luck!

Now I have an issue. I just went to start it (this was about 2-3 hours since I tried and failed the last time) and it started fine no problem and ran smooth at idle.
My father warned me it would be a good idea to take it to the dealer and get it checked out. He thought you never know where you might be when it plans on checkin' out like it did today.
They can probably run some diagnostics on the computer to see what the problem was/is correct?

this would sometimes happen to our 2000 TL-P, after running it hard i would pull into the driveway, shut it off, get out go inside. come out later try and start it, it would shudder horribly, run at around 200-500 rpms, i'd give it gas and it'd die. well depending on how long i would let it sit, say next morning, i'd come out and it'd be fine, very weird. well from trying different things i've learned that if you run it balls to the wall, before you shut it off and get out, let it sit and idle for a while, it seems like the ecu conforms to your driving style, then you shut it off, get back in and start it to idle, the ecu is still thinking your running the indy 500, where really you're just at idle. so let it run after you're done giving it hell, give the car a chance to collect itself before you shut it off.. doing this has totally solved my problem, it hasn't happened since

After driving hard, it is a good idea to let a car idle for up to a minute before turning it off. Also, if you got your car in Canada - I hope its not a probelm getting warranty service from dealer, I read in the news that manufacturers started to tighten this stuff up - ppl buying "cheap" canadian cars for US.

what you described happened to me as well. Basically, very rough idle. When I took it to the dealer, they replaced the idle position sensor on the throttle body. It was covered under warranty and took an hour to replace.

I think you car is fine. Sometimes the ECU in these fancy cars gets confused. If it keeps up maybe you have a bad sparkplug or wire.
As far as your Maint Light, read the manual, then get your oil changed

Here's another thing to consider. At 55k, have you ever had your fuel filter replaced? A clogged filter could cause problems as well...
I didn't think the TL needed one that quick, but I'm no expert.
BTW - the maintenance light blinking could simply mean that you hit that 6k mark between light resets.
