S2k VS TL

So as some of you probably know, I picked up a AP1 (2000) S2000 At a pretty good price here in Hawaii, I currently have two cars, One S2000 And one AcuraTL of the Same year. My s2000 has 65,000 miles and my TL has only 53,500.

Problem is, I can't drive stick. and even after learning is it really worth it in Hawaii with all this stop and go traffic? I can't afford to keep two cars and it would be sad to part with either one of them, but it must be done.. I absolutely suck at driving stick haha! Either one of the cars I decide to keep, I will do mods to go for kinda a VIP clean look.

So the question is, should i attempt to learn stick and keep the s2000 or stick with the TL and VIP it? I understand both are two seperate cars for seperate reasons. I like to go fast Thanks!

Is this sarcasm?
If you cant drive stick or perhaps you live in a place that is not ideal to have stick = SELL IT AND MOVE ON..

If you can LIVE with the stick or try to learn it the S2000 will hold its value better it has tons more aftermarket support and its completely reliable except the diff issue in early AP1s.. The S2K is a better choice than the TL at least for me I would try to keep both (Family = No 2 Seater = Need the TL)

Tough the S2K is way more expensive to mod and it will need shit tons of money before it can start to kick ass or go "FAST" for my taste, They are fun cars for the backroads not designed to be mustang killers....

Hey Dylz, thought ya abandoned ship awhile back with the TL.

Why would ya buy something if ya didn't wanna deal with shifting gears ? The S2000 is definitely an awesome handling sports car and is hands down the winner, IMO !!! Go with the gut, the TL is rather boring in comparison.

There is NO reason you cant drive stick, no matter where you live. Not wanting to because of the convenience of an automatic is the ONLY reason. I drive mine ALL day with nothing but stop and go. It sounds like you have made up your mind to not want to drive stick and learn how to better.

If I were you, I would go with the s2k. Its rear wheel drive!! just learn how to drive stick, you'll enjoy it in the long run.
I've always wanted one as a weekend warrior, but I don't have the coin for it yet .

I thought this was actually a s2k vs tl race thread. With that said, I have a some-what stupid question to ask lol Who would win?

My co-worker has a ap1 shell with an ap2 engine that is bone stock. I drive a 03 tl-s with an atlp exhaust and p2r spacers. We go back and forth every day about who would beat who yet we never raced. Even though I'm pretty sure he'll beat me, I keep on with the shit talking .
I've heard you've gotta hammer the damn thing before you actually go anywhere, but that little shit has to be fast, no?

s2k vs 6mt 3rd gen TL's = about the same or the s2k edges out the TL.
its a very good drivers race.

Not sure why you would buy a car that you cannot drive.

BL: if you want a fun, sporty car... Learn to drive a manual and keep the S2K. If you don't want a sporty car and hell bent on not learning how to drive, than keep the TL.

There is no excuse. My wife learned how to drive stick in 2 days after she bought her first car 92 Civic Si hatch. I was thrilled with the find and she wasn't. By day 4, she never looked back for an automatic trans car.

Yeah Dylz.....ya had your chance with modding the TL. Most of us gave ya plenty of suggestions for the TL a few months ago and ya went out and bought an S2000 instead.

Hmmm, a really good move considering that the TL sedan has it's limitations for a truly awesome sports car. While the S2000 is in all respects a real sports car. It's a very impressive and desirable fun car to drive in comparison to the TL. The S2000's are unique and will definitely be holding their residual value much better than the TL.

What would ever make ya turn your back on the S2000 and all the fun it has to offer....other than the fact that the TL has a problematic slushbox tranny ??? Don't look back, just grab a hold of that stick and let the good times roll. Ahhh !!!

S2000 no mods necessary, car is all around great.

Acura TL, you can make it into a pretty nice ride with the right mods and performance parts.

18 yrs old and two nice cars. What's next?

Cruisin' the beach for some hot babes !!!
Hook 'em with the S2k's top down and then with the next ride, load 'em into the TL's back seat.

Good choice and you won't regret it!

If I was 19 again and had the opportunity to own an S2K, I'd be the happiest man alive, lol! As an active member on other car forums, I tell these guys to enjoy the cars now while you are young because your time will be consumed with other things as you get older (e.g, wife, kids, career, etc.).

Even today, after dreaming about it since I was 16, I finally was able to boost a car that I own (14 years later). The bad part is that I have a wife and 2 young kids that eat all my free time, so I don't drive my car that much anymore... Even so, she knows how I feel about my car and is OK with me keeping it even though I know it's not practical for the family.
