Rubber around sunroof showing age?

My wifes TL is about 3 months old. I just noticed today that the rubber around the outside of the sunroof is showing age like it is years old. Its fading (like someone put wax on it), and looks like its getting ready to crack. One interesting thing is that the part of the rubber that is under the sunshade looks fine. Is this normal?

Use vinylex from lexol. It is great for plastic and rubber and protects against uv rays. In a blue bottle. I have not done mine yet as it is only 8 months old, but it is starting to look different so I will do mine tomorrow. BTW, I fixed the sunroof rattle with a coating of white lithium grease a couple of weeks ago, but in the future I will use the vinylex. That should solve both problems. The car is so quiet since I used the grease, but I do not know how long it will last.

Yeah.. my car has the same *old* looking rubber sealing around the moonroof. I think it started to look like that soon after I bought the car. I thought it was weird but didn't really make a big deal out of it.

Try some Honda own Shin-Etsu grease! We (S2000 owners) use it for the rubber around our convertible.
You can get some here:
