Rough idle becoming alarming, suggestions?

Hello all, first post here.

I have a 2002 Acura TL (Base) with approx. 180,100 mi. The car didn't come with much record of service so it's tough to pinpoint what has and hasn't been kept up with.

Anyways this has happened twice in the last 2 months. Start up the car (no hesitation or slipped ignition) and the rpm drops to around 500. Apply the accelerator a bit and the engine runs smoothly.

Able to physically feel vibration coming from the car, though there are no codes popping up even for a second. It doesn't change if it's in P,R,N,D either.

Once I begin to apply the brake the rpm will drop back around 750-1,000 then settle out around 500 again. If I don't keep a touch on the accel. The car occasionally stalls out. Once this happens a time or so the rough idle is gone. Everything drives normally and I do not hear any unessicary engine noise or vac leaks.

This all takes place over driving for a couple minutes, being winter time it is tough to say if it is because of the cold or what.

I should also acknowledge this happened the first time after pressing accelerator with vehicle off for a while, and possibly again the second time.

Sorry a lot of typing, just figured I'd give all the info I could think of. Any help it appreciated greatly. Thank you.

Looked under the hood, it's next to the throttle body correct?

Do I need to remove the torx head screws to get to the sensor? It will be the first thing I do in the morning.

You should check again. Doesn't hurt to clean it more. No such thing as 'too clean'

Don't forget the o2 sensor; it is a symptom of o2 sensor failing, but generally you will get a code for that.
