Hey guys

I've been having a problem with my car lately. When i'm stationary, my rpms drop really low, and i can feel my engine shake as if it would stall.

I searched and it seems it could be my IAC valve that is causing this. How can I find out if it is really the IAC valve?

Could a dirty air filter cause this too?

Are there any other things that can cause this problem?

Does teh car in general just idle too low always? the idle itself may be set too low and may need adjusting. or is it only when in like drive at a stop light???

 

This will only happen 20-30min into the drive. There are no problems for the first 10-15min.

And it only idles funny when i'm stopped but in drive. I parked the car this morning and it was doing it in park also.

It looks like its reving at 800rpm, then drops to like 500-400, then goes back to 800, drops back.

 

Sounds like the IAC. Are there any codes in the computer?

 

No check engine light. Just my maintenance light req blinkin' but that has nothing to do with it does it?

 

Remember, there can be codes and no light. There can also be pending codes and no light.

 

bring it to a parts store or someplace the like and have the codes read while its doing it if possible to see if any thing comes up
