rotors
rotors
I have a question I had my rotors resurfaced once by acura for free, they are warping again no warranty left, is it a good idea to get them resufaced again and use different pads assuming the warping is caused by the pads or are the rotors total sh#&. Don't want to spend to much $$ I would like to keep them oem just because I don't want squeaking from high performance pads and or rotors.

I would not resuface Acura rotors more than once. They are too thin to begin with. I say go to www.tirerack.com and get the Brembo OEM blanks. They (according to the reviews on this board) appear to be less prone to warping.
If you got the cash, get a set of Rotora slotted rotors from blxmjx (pm him for details). Will run you in the $300 range for all 4.

I would get different pads that stock as well. I switched from the EBC to the Hawks this weekend, and honestly, I am liking the Hawks much better...
As far as turning them again, you probably could get away with hit but how much money are you really saving? Secondly, if Acura DID NOT REPLACE THE STOCK PADS after the first warping, well, supposedly the old pad compound was the root of the problem (new OEM pads should be okay). If they didn't replace the pads, maybe you could complain enough to get new pads and rotors at a discounted price from the dealer as they should have taken care of it the first time...

Don't bother with OEM rotors. You can get better quality blanks for cheaper anywhere you go. Just go on ebay motors and search on Acura TL rotors and look at all your choices.
You should go ahead and replace your OEM crappy warped rotors with a good quality set that won't warp. The dealer replaced my OEMs at 8K and I still swapped them out for some performance blanks and EBC pads. Money well spent for braking performance & safety. I have had them on for 20K and they are still smooth as glass with no warpage.

I got Race Concepts slotted / dimple drilled. I've also heard good things on this forum about Rotora. As long as you don't over tighten your lugs, properly bed in your pads, and don't abuse your brakes to the point of getting them over heated than your rotors shouldn't warp.
Here is a link that explains the real reason brake rotors warp:

after all the annoying squeaky pads ive been through i would still have to say the honda pads that our cars come with are by far the best pads. even with my brembo rotors, honda pads dont make squeak noises at all, no matter what condition. axxis, hawks, thermoquiet, wagner, whatever it is, they all tend to make noises.. actually thermoquiet was a cheap ass brand, but they didnt make too bad of a noise. it was reallly low squeaks that you would only hear when you brake really hard. they run about 25-30 per pair. so 60 at most for the whole set. really good deal. if you know anyone that works at an acura service department, just get a good deal off them. i got a whole set of honda pads for 79 bucks and its the best choice ive made. no squeaks at all. but longer doesnt stop the car like the aftermarket pads did. but at least its better than stock rotors and pads. the brembos are still doing a good job!
