Rotor question

Do you always have to machine the rotors when you put in new brake pads? I always do it but hate to wait 2 hrs for a local auto part store to machine them. Thanks.

if you machine them, then when you put new pads on the car won't shake. The car make shake quite a bit if you don't do that, but after a day or so driving it will go away

its recomended to resurface the rotors just so that when the new pads are put on they can completly touch the surface, there by improving braking and brake life, and to help smooth out braking

...but you're removing mass from your rotors, which means they'll warp faster next time. I do advise "turning" the rotors though.

you dont need to resurface unless youve had a problem with vibrations. its not recommended to do it unnecessarily because eventually you will run out of material and need new rotors.
