air bypass valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock in the event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes submerged in water. The valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, rerouting air through its external diaphragm to keep water out and air flowing in.......

you loose a few HPs but in my opinion its worth it... unless it never rain where u live

if u are talking about my car, its like a blow off valve, tht vents air back in the engine, wich dosent make noise like a blow off valve.

if u are talking about TL's, i dont know.

its worthless unless you submerge the filter and are on the engine. In other words you wont need it if you are avoiding bad situations like a normal driver. Plus it takes away all the HP you gain over a short ram intake. So if you are worried about the water, then save your money and get a short ram - there are +'s of the short ram like looks better, easier to get to/clean the filter, and sounds better.

down here in miami rains a lot, but if the valve takes away all the hp of the filter then i might as well stay with the stock, i heard the short ram worked on high rpm and my dad hardly steps on it that hard so i dont know bout getting one of those, what do u think

are you guys looking for looks or performance? I think the OEM body kit makes the biggest difference, oh, as well as tints. Now that I have a drop, get springs. Those 3 things will significantly make the car look nicer.
for performance, I think headers make the biggest difference.

Unless you run your car into a lake..a bypass valve is useless.

we got tints already and i also want to know if i get better mileage with the aem cai, i read that u could take of something called the resonator or something like it and it gives u bettter air flow, but it would sound louder and my dad doesnt want too much noice, and the body kit i like it but my dad doesnt, ill have to convince him, he just wants a wing

another question i have is about the windows and windshield, they have the water stains and we dont know how to get them off, any suggestion would be appriciated

If you don't want to buy a CAI..just take off the resonator (which basically muffles out the sound your intake makes) and drop in a K&N or C/T filter. Heres a link for the resonator removal: http://www.abunchofcars.com/diy_page.../resonator.htm

.. and as for your water stains, try cleaning it with vinegar or also try claybaring.

Thanks..well if you were to get a CAI..in order to install it, it *requires* you to take off the resonator. And anything that improves air-flow (eg. Intake/Headers/Exhaust) gives you better mileage+hp. Happy modding!

P.S. And yes, the sound of a AEM CAI will be loud and sweet.

Look into comptech's icebox. It looks stock, gives same performace as aem, and you don't have to worry about water.

Mobil 1 does not make a 5W-20 synthetic oil. They do make a 0W-20 but it is hard to find and often more expensive since you can't always buy it by the case. Mobil 1 does make a 5W-30 but some people that use it report a decrease in mileage.

I use Amsoil's 5W-20 synthetic.

wait?? so the CAI makes how much more noise? Cuz i was thinking about getting one, and if water sucks in, i'm screwed right? What if i drive in puddles? like the sorta big ones. Cuz i heard that water will leak into your car before it will suck water in. Is that correct? If i want to be puddle worry free, what's the next best thing, Short ram, or icebox? Thanks man.. BTW i plan to drop to like maybe around 2 inches in the summer, i don't know if that makes any of my problems different though. thanks again..
