Post rolling on dubs

Stock:<table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=10><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff"><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana, Arial">16in = 406.4
sidewall height = 123
total height = 652.4
width/ratio = 205/60
</font></td></tr></table>

With 20s:<table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=10><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff"><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana, Arial">20in = 508
sidewall height needed = 72.2
width/ratio available = 245/35
actual sidewall = 85.75
radius larger than stock = 13.55 (0.533")
</td></tr></table>

I think its possible... only problem - finding a 20x8.5 wheel with a high enough offset.

Ideas/thoughts? Wonder what it would look like without a drop?

I thought 20s would not fit at all.

Thumbs up

I think it would fit. You would definitely have to roll your fender though. I just bought 19x8.5 for my 99 with 215 35 19's, with a 40 offset. I haven't tried them yet seeing as how it is winter in Canada, if you want I will post it when I know how they will fit. But I am having the fenders rolled and pulled, The car has to be seriously slammed for my taste so I need to be able to tuck. I think someone also make 225 30 20's I was just told this week.

Maybe you could get 20s on, but with too much of a drop you would be still be scraping somewhat on big dips and shit. I don't know, maybe the scraping would not be that bad if you know how to drive with rims and a drop, but you better not have any of your big homies sit in the back seat.

this is my opinion: i think 19" would look alot nicer on TL than 20", the 20s jsut dont seem to fit for the TL, because the body is not big enough. 19" would look perfect though.

Wow... 215 series for 8.5 inch wide wheel? Isn't that too thin?? And a 40 offset?? That sounds crazy.... Post pics and tell us if that works tho!!

I think it would work. Without a drop fo sho - only a 1/2 inch increase in radius from stock. With a drop I'm sure theres still more than 1/2 inch to spare. Just that everyone's too pussay to try! Who is the first to fit dubs huh? If Mike can fit 19s with the crazy azz drop he has ya know what I'm saying...

How can you say it'd look whack when no one has ever seen it before?

215 is a bit thin for 8.5", 8.5" usually is a fit for 245 tires. when i first bought my rims (17x9) i had 245 tires on them, but they were replaced with 255. but watever floats ur boat=]

Hopefully springs will get sent out this week! Going down more? Impossible!

I dunno about 18s... they seem to look so small! How many ppl here wish they would've gone 19s?

Better not burn out, you will be drivin on those fvckin rims if you do. Besides, the chances of the rims bending are so much greater with 20s, even 19s have a good chance too if you are not careful. I am sure Tann and TLon19s know about that. Anyway, I think 18s with some coilovers(You have all seen valueTL's car) are good enough.

save 3 grand for the rims and a bunch on tires, buy 18s. I thought about dubs but when i saw how much it was to buy replacment tires, i was like 18s for me --anyways buy 18 and drop the car about an inch.
