Rocking sensation when idle

And I'm not talking about what Mick Jagger does when he's in his rocking chair at the retirement home, either.

When the TLS is idling, do you ever feel a slight very low-frequency rocking motion? It's almost undetectable, but if you sit in the driver's seat while the car is parked and idling and look down you may get seasick. I wonder if it's the fluid engine mounts "sloshing" and letting the engine rock back and forth ever so slightly.

Yes someone else agrees!

I've noticed this along time ago, but the dealer nor I knew what this was! It's almost like a coldstart, without the noise, but with the motion excepts it's constant!

Are you referring to a "lope" at idle or "rough" idle? They can feel very similar.

The TLS however does have a lope due to the more aggressive cam. And with the higher compression it can even be heard in the exhaust. I love it! Not as righteous as a good throaty V8 with a real healthy cam and exhaust, but still noticeable.

Ah, if only it had more torque, some better gearing and meatier tires. Sigh.
