Rockblocker Smoked Taill Light Installation Help?

I am considering purchasing this and was wondering if I will need to completely take my tail lights out? And if so is this a hard process?

no you dont have to. just lay it on slowly and be sure to use a hairdryer to help shape the vinyl to the taillight.

even if you wanted to remove the taillights, it's very simple. twist off the black circular things that you see when you open your trunk and pop out the clips. simply pull back the trunk liner and you'll see approximately 4 nuts holding each taillight in place. remove, unplug bulbs, you're good to go.

I just got my Rockblocker installed on my tails today. I got the 35% (darker) smoked tint. The kit comes with basic instructions on how to do it and you will need soapy water and definitely need a hair dryer or heat gun to make it fit around the curves. I had a guy at a tint shop do it under the table for $20. I will post pictures later.

Remember if you are getting the spray on tint, it is not reversible, but the Rockblocker you can simply peel off and then use soapy water and sponge to get off adhesive. If you are doing the spray on, and you accidentally go too dark, you will need a whole new set of tails.

I was thinking the same thing, what is the point of buying new tails if you are going to just put the tint over them? I have a 99 and installed it on the whole tail, but some people with the 02-03 tails cut out the part of the tint over the top part, so the bottom half is covered, but the clear part is not covered. It all depends what look you're going for and how much $$ you want to spend.

No, those aren't mine I just found them on here.

I can't wash my car yet because you have to let the tint set just like regular tint and wait a few days before you do anything. On Monday, I'm going up to Super Suds where my buddy is manager to get a free detail. I will take pictures after that and make a post in pictures gallery.

This is my ride before I cut the top clear part of the tail lights. Very easy to install Rockblocker tint. All you need is the hair dryer, bottle of water spray, and time. Do it slowly and make sure to remove all the bubbles out before moving on to another section.
