Ouch! I'm glad you're alright. I think you should buy it from the ins if they total it and part it out. I'd be interested in the fog lights if they're still good.

Pour a lil for my homies.......that have gone before me.

Man, at least we can all feel safe to know that we can walk away from an accident like that!!! Hope you are alright. You didn't get sighted for rearending someone, that would suck. I second the opinion of parting out the car. I would be interested in the rims. You can sell rearend body parts and the the whole interior except for the air bags, of course. Take care and, again, glad you are ok.

2005 TL for you?

yea im ok...i walked away with a couple cuts on my hand, an bruised nose and upper lip and thats it, it did not get sighted for rear ending someone, it ended up being a no-fault accident, it was a five car pile up. It's just sitting up at my dads shop waiting for the inspector to come total it. I'm not really sure what im gonna get next as i wasnt planning on totaling my car or getting rid of it anytime soon. And as one of you mentioned it is a good thing to know the car held up well in a bad accident. I basically hit another stopped car at 40, yes the glove compartment blew out as a result of the heating and air conditioning components being pushed into and almost through the firewall. Everything in the engine compartment was pushed back an up....majoe damage to the subframe and frame rails so theres no doubt in my mind shes gonna total

thats true but pictures can be decieving its hard to see but all the cooling and heating systems in the right side of the engine bay actaully began to push through the firewall and blew the glove compartment out....the engine was pushed back and up completly bending the subframe and causing extensive damage to the frame rails, the suspension was not only also shifted back almost into the compartment but the right side torqued and bent completely radiator and such were completely blown out....the list goes on and on, alot that you cant see in the pics

wow.. wow. r.i.p. indeed

still in utter shock to see a TL take that much damage. tl's are pretty damn strong so, i dont know about others, that damage looks pretty devastating for going at just 30-40. any other car, the engine wouldve come into the freakin front seats. a damage like that, good thing it with held a hit, especially running into a benz ML rear bumper..

Hey. Glad to see that you made it out alright. I hope there's no long-term damage(to your body I mean) as a result of the accident. Good luck with the insurance company too, I hope they give you enough.

yes but ive also been repairing cars for along time and have spent alot of years in auto body classes (for my own personal education, not for work) and i know what im looking at.
like i said not bad damage for the speed
there is no deformation in the roof,A pillars, and the doors gaps are all the same, and open. the impact was isolated to just the front members (meaning the car held up very well and the damage ist as severe as it could have been) remove teh hood (which did what it was supposed to do perfectly) and the damage wouldnt look as bad.

yes your right it pretty much was isolated to the front end....doors were slightly damaged though, hard to open and loud creaking noise when you try to open them.....however i also have a vast knowledge of repairing cars my dad owns 2 of his own body shops and i have been them since i was little if you could come look at the wreck up close and in person you'd see the extenxt of the damage if i was to take the hood off you only see 3/4 of the engine since the other 1/4 is pretty much trugh the firewall....try to find the right front headlight it wasnt removed or anything it was just smashed so hard it was completly flattened and is like platered to the front end.....same thing with the radiator and such...they are as thin as a piece of paper.... i think i pretty much did as much damge to the frotn end as possible...but then aagain alot more damgae coulda been done to me

it looks like the doors are only damaged due to the fenders. if you had impacted lower down, where the bumper is, i dont think you would have had the extensive engine movement that you did.
(just dont get me wrong its a bad accident, im just saying for the speed it wasnt bad. the TL held up good)

Holy shit.... That scares the shit outta me. I'm glad your ok, but I'm really sorry to hear about your car. I'd say just get another TL. They're the best. The only other car I'd own is a 2001 BMW 740i Sport.... but they are still a bit pricey. Keep us posted!

Sorry to hear about your accident. If your looking to get into another car try looking at the 2005 audi A4 quattro is sweet, or go with the 2005 tsx.
