i'd get the rims, you are already lowered, so the kit will just make it look lower with the addition of some aerodynamics.

Get the RIMS (actually wheels), NO CONTEST here. The wheels will do wonders for the cars appearance. Thats why im not even bothering getting the body kit. Ive seen it on some cars with and without wheels. The cars with just the wheels look a little better in my opinion.

Go for the wheels

i'd go with the rims as well. i also think that with a lowered car the body kit just makes it look even lower.

much more dramatic statement with rims than the body kit.

I'd go with rims too. Totally changes your car. It will look great w/your springs.

the kits is like $1000, so what kind of rims are we talking about? not many 18" rim and tire packages are that cheap. personally, i would like to lower the car at the same time.

I'll disagree with the consensus here. I think you should go kit. First, it will be cheaper. Secondly, it disgtinguishes you from the rest of the cars, as only TLS are able to get this kit (anyone can get 18s on their car) and even fewer TLS owners actually do (purchase this kit).

The kit will make the car stand out more in my opinion. It changes the whole appearance of the car, making it alot more sportier in appearance.

I would say Rims, kits are uaually rice. But before you would go out and buy rims i would lower the car. Actually i wouldn't put rims on the car....i would just lower it.

I would go with the kit too. Since we all have stock 17" (not too shabby). You've already drop the car, the kit would look good with the drop & stock rims. Just my .02

if you want to be pratical, you should get the kit because you are not replacing anything on the car...you are adding to it. therefore, you are not *wasting* money. getting rims means having an extra set, practically brand new, laying around or having to sell the stocks for less than they are worth. it's cheaper of the two as well!

Why not just get a good set of inexpensive 17" rims (there were so many sites listed here a few days ago... do a search) and get the kit? And then take some damn pictures and show us your good work!

I'd say get the kit. The stock rims are not that bad. The OEM kit looks pretty sharp. Not overly done.

I have a kit with no wheels and the car looks good. You are dropped, so getting a kit will make the car look sick as hell. If you have a type S you can get away with the kit dropped and looking good. Rims are expensive but make a big difference, Kit is less expensive especially from tim and makes a big difference as well. Rims add to the bling of the car, while a kit adds to the beauty of the lines on the car. I would go for the kit, especially if you own a type s.

I would get the kit, u got cool looking 17 inch wheels already, and the kit ain't bad looking. Your car is already dropped, so it would look sweet with the kit.

Any pics of your ride now with the new springs??

Are you sure ONLY TL-S can get OEM kits?!? So your saying a 2002 TL-P can't get a OEM body kit? Is this true?

2002 TL-p and TL-S share the same OEM bodykit.

Dont think about the cost issue so much since after buying the rims, you can make up for it by selling the stock ones and the overall price will be the same as just getting the kit in the first place. It's true that you will feel a difference with the new rims, but for 1500 with tires? I doubt that those rims will be lighter to make up for the performance loss you'll be getting with larger wheels, so that's another issue to look at. For you southbay folks, I guess you can get away with the kit and springs...but dont go to any driveways with me, you'll regret it.

Oh, another factor to look at. People can appreciate the kit both when you are moving or standing still, but the rims can only be seen while parked and can barely be noticed on the freeway other than by enthusiasts.
