Rice...and others that got pulled over for mods...please read

I do not have the receipts for my exhaust or intake; what should i do about that?
This is what i did EVERYTIME i get one of these fixers...and i've gotten at least 5 of them, got my acquittal everytime. This of course is after a fail attempt to get them to sign off the fixer...

1. Arrange a court date, some counties lets you fight it without being physically present. All you have to do is mail in your evidence. (I had to do it with the cop standing beside me in front of a judge…it was a joy watching his face when I presented my evidence

2. Get your manufacturer to fax you a copy of their CARB paper work.

3. IF the manufacturer can provide proof the noise is within legal limits, then you have less work to do. In my case, GReddy didn't, so i had to dig out the whole chapter on California Code of Regulations. If you need a copy, e-mail me.

(BTW, CCR on exhaust modifications was written too long ago, and there's been another regulation written that contradicts the 95db limit. Any judge (or the poor clerk)will know this. Also, a exhaust system like Comptech’s is classified as a “Replacement”, NOT “Modified”.)

4. Take some pictures of the parts ticketed with manufacturer logos shown. Or simply provide receipts...in your case, its the pics.

5. Take pictures of your car with license plates (put that front plate on!!!)

Best of luck to ya'all..

Oh yeah...CCR and CARB of course...only applies to California registered vehicles...

For you non "Californian", i'm sure there's something on paper like CCR. Do a search on the web, or ask one of your lawyer friends

Re:

Happy to help...

The red 99 is mostly driven by my wife, we're right off 237 and El Camino. i'm stuck with my POS delsol until my S2k gets in.

I haven't been to this board for a short while so i dont recognize the new members. But i do see a few recognizable TLs sometime such as ACURATL's sweet ride...

happy motoring...
