Reviing the old still unsolvable chime problem...

Well, its not really a problem...

But we talked about this before, but no result...How do we disable the Chime?
Where is the wire to cut? where is the chime coming from?

I cant take it anymore. FIND IT! lol

thanx and peace.

Are you talking about the headlight on chime when you turn off the ignition and open the door? That drives me nuts also since the lights go off by themselves anyway.

you guys need some help if a chime that lasts 15 seconds really makes you want to cut up the elctronics of the car. BTW there is a little speaker behind the dash. You can see the opening to the right of the steering wheel. If you want, get behind there and cut the wire.

That is for the interior air temp sensor for the climate control Behind that hole (more like a plastic square grill) you describe is the temp sensor.
It's shown as such in the Owners Manual.

ok, i took out the trim below the steering wheel, and I got underneath all the mess, so I can find where the noise is coming from.. AND its like the car is toying with me! I hear that noise from everywhere, left, right, central, freaken surround sound. Find the little speaker, PLEASE !

Spl1011 is right. I haven't found the speaker yet, but I can tell you it ISN'T behind those vents on the lower dash about halfway between the ignition switch and the gas pedal. That's a temperature sensor for the climate control. It says so in The Fine Manual.

Someone please find the source of that headlight chime! Anyone got a Helms manual?

the easiest way would be disconnect the driver pin switch by taking a screw driver on the door if you talk about the key in the car with door open. or if you want it disconnect forever cut the key sense wire, forgot what color, but is by the transponder by the ignition key hole.

my two cents: the sensor is located in the ignition switch, as everyone else, I could not find the location of the output, however, a Honda "friend" of mine is suggesting the source comes from within the steering column. Pain is ass to get to.

? If you disconnect the driver pin switch, wouldn't you lose the cabins lights?

If you are working on your car, why not just turn your lights off???

I haven't looked yet but on almost every other car I've worked on it's been very close to the fuse block. I know, I know, there's two on the inside of this car.

O.K. from what I can tell from the Helm Manual you should start at Fuse no. 13 on the driver's side or no. 6 under the hood. It's same beeper that goes off for low oil pressure, seat belt reminder at start-up, etc. I could be wrong though.

O.k. scratch all that it's coming out of teh Multiplex Control Unit on teh driver's side. It controls the Lights-on, Key-in, Seat Belt Minder, Key Light Timer, and Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Systems. If you have a Helm Manual it starts on Pg. 22-139.

i believe there are two speakers, one for chime:reminder, and one for annoying beeping, who knows. I called up Acura at Brooklyn location, they dont know jack.

I wish I had the decibal measuring machine to find where the sound is coming from, I cant locate it by ear.
