Resale Value
According to the latest issue of Money Magazine (March 2001) the Acura 3.2 TL has a higher percentage of resale value after 5 years than cars that compete in it's class. Here are some of the numbers (As well as the rest of the Acura's) (The issue also has costs, dealer costs, target prices, etc)

Does the 45% represent the amount of depreciation? If so, after 5 years, we can recoup 55% of, presumably, the sticker price (let's say $28k for 2001, so 55% of $28k = $15,400).
Or are we only expected to recoup 45% (i.e., $12,600) of what we paid?
