Well I'd say it is because of the recall and the new body style. KBB has my '00 TL with Navi listing for under $9,000 and the car stickered at $30,400 when new. I have 98K miles now.

I think due to the (new model/tranny) so many owners are getting rid of them like me you have to price it very competitively. I know I had too bring my price down several times, there were 100 on Ebay at one time and 25 pages of them on Auto Trader and Cars.com.

Yea...simple supply and demand...

Now that a lot of owners are flooding the market with 2nd gen TLs, they cannot command as high a price... Should stabilize a bit after the flood is over...

I bought mine for $14k, the original price was around $12000, but the guy I bought it from had Comptech headers on it, the headlights cleared, and the OEM kit and other crap...so I told him I'd take it for 14K. Now its listed on kbb for $12,500 private party resale. I don't think thats too awful I guess.

Yeah, from the TL Type-S searching I've done I'd say resale is pertty low. It's kind of crazy because I've seen such a wide range of prices from really cheap with low miles to really expensive with low miles and same with really expensive with high miles and really expensive with low miles (duh)

What I'm Looking At

Other deals I have my eyes on are...

02 Type-S
20k
$18,900

02 Type-S
21k
$17,999

And then there's a 02 Type-S with 35k on it going for $22,000. I don't understand how prices differ so much.

Is the car you are looking at green...or is that just a display picture? The 02 Type S with 21K miles seems like a good deal to me, and hopefully that one isn't green...

Also add that there is shit load of cars in the used car market. There is more supply than demand. That’s also bringing used cars prices down and effecting re-sale value.

Are those all in the same city? All dealers or some individuals mixed in? It makes a big difference...

I'll probably be looking for about $21k...

Go with one of those, even though 1,000 extra miles shouldn't mean $901 extra.

Yep. I don't want the hassle of a private sale when I'm just trying to get a new car. One stop shopping for me.

Yeah it is green...I like how it's somewhat hard to tell if it's green or black in that first picture, if you click on "more photos" you can better tell that it's green, but at night it should look black...I hope

It's amazing that resale value was this car's high point a few years ago, but the bottom has dropped out of values.

yeah, that's pretty sucky for those of us who bought a year ago (me). But, on the other hand, I may be able to get an s-type with navi and less miles in a year or so. I planned to wait three more years. I just finished the stereo install, too.

Sure, I'd lose money, but I'd have a badder assed car.

I may drop by the dealer and see what they can do... my wife will kill me
