Replacing the Speaker Cloth

Hey guys!
So many of you with the Taupe interior might have noticed some rings and dark fading around the opening.
I am going to try and replace this material with black cloth.
Would anyone know how to go about this?
I have found this thread to remove the door wood trim and will start there.

Will keep updating the more I figure out

you could also paint it black with fabric spray if you can't get the old cloth out.

Well I took the door off and it looks like the cloth is molded to the speaker cover by heated plastic.
So it seems these guys are right once again
So unless you want to take off the housing and drill new holes this is the best way to go about it. But Im still going to take the panels off because while spraying I don't want to get it on other parts of the interior.

yep. you have to drill out the melted plastic rivets then when done epoxy them back on. Its not hard, but id try the painting method first.

I just bought my 2000 Acura TL with tan/ beige interior and the cloth speaker covers were black I cleaned them with warm water and a rag and just gently pressing on the cloth.. They look brand new.. but I have been thinking about painting them black also.

Well I finished and I must say it looks good.
Though on after looks my masking tape did hold up well i do have some sharp edges that I will hopefully remove.
And the colour matching isnt perfect but it looks good overall.

I melted out the plastic "Rivets" to get mine out. I then recovered with black speaker grill material.
