Replacing Engine Mounts

searched and still confused.

I went to the dealer to get an oil change and they told me that my front and left side engine mounts need to be replaced. They quoted me at $450 for both. My friend said that he'll do it and teach me at the same time. I went to

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

but I'm not sure what parts I need. Any help?! Thanks in advance!

you have a very common failure- except is usually the passenger side mount that goes
parts wil run you about 150 for both- the front is 120 itself
With friends help, a few hours work at home to change, and a small donation of human flesh.

#34 and 7-replaced mine myself not long ago. About $150.00 shipped. Takes about an hour or so to replace. $300 labor eh? What a rip off! for a job that would take an experienced tech. about an hour or less. Do a search-there are instructions here. It's easy to do!

Yeah dude i got mine put in for $100 labor and whatever the parts cost a the dealership minus whatever discount you get when you're buying it from them as a dealer. I cant remember how much but it was probably $150 like it is online. Made a huge difference, I changed them two days after buying my car and was completely blown away.

$100 labor at the dealer is v good. i paid over $400 for mounts and labor.. and that includes no labor on the passenger mount as I had the timing belt package done at the same time....

I had the same issue also. I bought my parts parts from acuraautomotiveparts.org for about 280 for front and side. They customer rep will know off the top of his head and refer you to the right parts. They have the diagrams of those parts in their computer. No worries.

What year is your TL? The Front mount is different for 99 VS. 2000 and up. Then we can help.

Hello,
I had my two motor mounts replaced for about 350 dollars.
Just passenger mount and front. These both busted at about 93K miles.

By testing them, more vibration in the car, spots on your driveway, inspection.

Vacuum assisted oil filled .vs. Urethane

this has been helpful, and KSuchdeve, I've read through the CL-S thread about Innovative Mounts and there seems to still be problems with the side mounts?

Well they supposedly corrected the problem. The other day I got an unexpected package and it was a brand new side mount from Time at Innovative. Apparently since they got all the calls about the side mount having a problem, they just redesigned it and sent out new mounts to EVERYONE that bought the original set. Any kit bought from now on will have the updated side mount. I haven't had the chance to install the new side mount yet so I can't comment on its quality compared to the old one.

Hey 03cOupe, If ya don't want to spend alot of money.....check Ebay, as many have bought the entire package deal containing all the mounts for less than $125.

Check some previous threads on DIY and motor mounts by searching. You'll be better prepared to know what's involved during the replacement, plus the other choices of mount brands available.
