Replaced Iridium spark plugs with platinum ones and car run better
Wonder how much iridium spark plugs was inside. Obviously new platinum are better than worn out iridium. Some rust was at treads and it wasn't completely easy to pull out old ones.
Well checked manual and it said ---- Electrode gap new 1,0 to 1,1 and service limit 1,3 ----------. I guess that mean I had like 30K more at that spark plugs as gap at my spark plugs is 1,2mm. However I drive this car for 60k and I was nervous because I didn't replace it ever and usually old owners do not use anti seize compound at spark plugs. Other solution was to pull out spark plugs, clean them and put them back with anti seize at threads.
To add 1 of this plugs was seriously stuck and had to do a lot of careful wrenching to pull it out. 2 others was significantly sized and none was completely easy to pull out. All of them I had to turn out with ratchets, none of them go freely at any time. I guess properly tightened spark plug that is not sized should go with wrench somewhat and than should go turning it with hand freely.
^^^ Replaced already. Didn't do thread cleaning and I think now I should. I even have a thread chaser that I did use at my F250. Had to use wrench to screw some of them down hole. Will do tread cleaning in 100k and it will happen in 6 years. Like always I did use nickel anti seize and dielectric grease at boots.
