replace 99 tl with 02-03 type s?
I mean if I were you I would just because I love our cars man....if you get one with under 50k miles you won't really have to worry about the tranny really cuz it is under warranty (just a hassle to get it taken care of) , more performance and same great looking car you know ...but it is up to you
to answer your initial question yes i would unless you can get something better...IS350 maybe

acuras are just so easy maintence is the way i see it. oil changes, FREE tranny changes... ahaha what else could u want?
It may be under warranty but driving with the knowledge that your tranny is going to give out at any time changes the feeling you have while driving. I've certainly lost some of that great feeling driving ever since mine blew and my PCM was changed. Can't really find a way to get what I feel down through a keyboard but I hope you understand what I'm trying to express. Not to say I don't love my car which I do very much.

>50k on an 02-03 TL-S is great. I would get a 2003 over 2002, seems to be a little less problems with 2003's. low mileage equals piece of mind with the tranny and if you mod the S the power is awesome!
i only need a nice car to get me thru college.. once i graduate i'll look into getting a better car.. i just want a nice car i can work on and get to places with pimp status.. ya feel me?

but then again, ill be stuck at 90k miles again, debating on if i should sell my car, but at that time im sure ill be ready to sell it. so i think buying a type S would do me good. hopefully i can see what i can find at the dealer auctions around here.
im looking for a type S w/ navi < 50k miles, hopefully in the color i always wanted

Pimpravi, your 99 is sick so you Have to do the next one up just as sick!!
I just did! I had a 99 with 98,500 miles. The transmission was replaced at about 80k. When my coils blew last week, I decided that I'd rather have a car payment on an 02 S and the tranny covered under warranty then the worry of having to cover that possibily myself on my 99. I traded on an 02 TL-S with 45K miles and extended my car payment another 5 years. The day I bought it... tranny trouble! Hey, that's why I did it, right? So it should be ready today or monday for me to start my new life with my (new) car.
My suggestion is, definitely! If you can't afford a GS400/430 (i can't) then there really isn't a car that competes. Don't worry about tranny failure, expect it. Make sure you're not going to have to pay for that.
You're asking because you LOVE your TL. I completely understand how you just don't get tired of the car, ever. Although, for three years, I've lusted after the S-TYPE.
Here's the question: Would you rather have to sink money into yout 99 unexpectedly or pay that money up front and get in an S? You may not have problems with your 99 but you might, ansd service ain't cheap.
