Rental car due to tranny probs?

I've had the well-chronicled transmission problems on my 2000 TL at 63,000 miles. Brought the car to the dealer today and was told since I'm outside of the original warranty, there is no coverage for either a loaner or rental car.

I was told that even if they determine I'm covered by the warranty extension by Acura, I'm still out of luck on the rental car.

Is this correct? Should I be making a fuss about this?

Thanks,
Paul

It is true that after the original warranty they don't supply you with a loaner car.

Even under the warranty, your still not guaranteed a loaner. Cause Acura dealers are .... Well, you know, fill in the blank. :p

Yep you might just have to just bite the bullet on this one.
But how does the regular extended warranties work when you purchase them at the time you buy the car? I don't think they supply us with a loaner car. So all HONDA/ACURA did was give us an extendedl tranny warranty. I would not gripe over this issue but hope you get it fixed & have no more problems. I have a 2000TL thats getting close to 3yrs ownership. I have less than half the mileage you have 28,000 miles so I am coverd for the whole car another full year.

It all depends on the dealer. My dealer Sterling McCall Acura gave me a loaner for my 99 and they replaced it for free out of warranty. I think mainly because the car has the entire maintenance history with them.

They are rated one of the highest Acura delerships in the nation. (I dont know how they come up with that). But anyhow I got a POS cavalier so I couldnt complain.

Actually, even though you're out of original factory warranty, you're still in for 100,000 Transmission Warranty Extension so you should get your loaner. Try other dealership or call Acura Client services.
