Removing mud guards

I am planning to remove my mud guards after reading other posts about how it can warp the paint after time. I tried removing the rear ones just to see how easy it was. After I took off one of them the bumper seemed to be a little loose. Under the guard there is a little black tab, am I supposed to take that tab out and replace it with a screw to hold it in place? I wasn't sure so I just put it back on. Just wanted to make sure if the tab needs to be replaced or not. Thanks

I am planning to remove mine too... and install the OEM kit. Once removed and the kit installed, are there other mug guards available to fit the car with the OEM kit??? Lots of crap here on the roads and I want to protect the side panels so they dont get damaged like the hood does with stone chips...

Thanks

I dont think I've seen any rides here that have the kit and mud guards. It's a trade-off
