i have the comptech exhaust and have the smaller of the 2 resonators removed. the sound is a deeper tone with the comptech, i had both off but the low rpm droan was too much for extended hwy driving.

if you look under the car just in front of the passenger side rear tire you will see 2 objects 1 looks like a small muffler and the 2nd one is smaller round about a foot long. the small round one is the one i have removed.

hope this helps.

p.s. i really liked the sound of the exhaust with both removed, i think im gonna try removing the other one again and buy the quiet tip inserts.

If you wanna know how loud the HKS exhaust will be with the BiGGeR resonator removed, ask Corey (badazzTL)

badazzTL@Hotmail.com or badazz32tl on AIM

he has it and he has 2-3 vids of it, very nice imo

my question is will removing the resonators give an increase in horse power like mufflers would on a stock exhaust.

i originally removed the resonators with the stock exhaust, there was a little deaper tone but nothing to brag about. as far as doing it your self yea you can if you are mechanically inclined, probably alot easer to bring it to a muffler shop and let them do it because if you remove both you will have to have a pipe custom bent. i have the small one removed right now with comptech exhaust and its not loud enough for most of my driving but with both out on long trips it was a little anoying. but i do think im gonna have the big one removed again and buy quiet tip inserts. as far as being too loud with hks exhaust i dont know? all i can say is try it to see if you like it

Does anyone have a picture of these pipes? I've looked under the car and I only see the one "big" piece which is the Cat... I cant see any other pieces that can be removed.

as far as a quiet tip insert for the hks? i dont think so. of my 2 resonators the big one is about 3/4 the size of a factory muffler, the other one is about the size of a 1 liter bottle of soda (+ - )
