removal of license plate

I want to remove my front license plate. If I do this, it will leave holes in the bumper. Anyone know how to cover up the holes in the bumper aside from bondo-ing it.

thanks

Depends on the dealer. Mine like many only used the lower mounting points. Remove it to see if they installed screws thru or from underneath

When I bought my TL it came from a state which orginally had to have front license plates. It was from texas but at the time they guy had just moved to SC and had not yet registered. So when I took off the texas plates because NC doesnt require front plates I have two holes there also. I thought it was realy stupid for them to do that.

they dont have plugs for the tl. you can try using honda ones but you'll most likely have to find adhesive to keep the plugs in.

Did you take it of to find out if there were holes in the bumper?

They dont make tabs for the tl like they do for the civic.

I purchased mine from Acura of Escondido. They sell a lot of parts on ebay so you can email them atten: Scott and you can buy them at a discount.
These are sold as genuine parts and come in a sealed bag from Honda.

My 03 TLs doesnt have front holes for the plate, and I like it that way.
Holes in the bumper are ugly as hell.

The plugs for the 3G TL are suppose to come with the car when new. I live in CA and they were removed to put on the front plate holder by the dealer. The dealer is suppose to give them to you but they don't. My internet salesman at Valencia Acura just went back to parts and got two for me when I took delivery. He said they can be ordered if I lose one. Go to parts at your local dealership, they can order the push in plugs in any color for 04-06 TL. If they install the front plate holder, they should have a bunch setting around.

I don't know about 2nd Gen TL, won't hurt to ask the parts guys.

they drilled holes through my bumper too, car was in TX but i live in LA.... i took off the plate holder anyway, don't feel like repairing a bumper cover that only cost like 100 bucks online, and then painting, so i lived with the two holes for 4 years now

My 99 TL didn't have holes in the bumper. The mounting bracket for the front plate attached on the underside of the leading edge of the bumper, at the top of the main grill. Removing the OEM bracket assembly leaves no holes.
