But then the receiver in the 2nd gens may not be compatible.

This deems more research, however, since the Accords had a remote start feature as an option - from Honda. It worked with the same keyfob as any other Accord. And we know just how alike the TL is to the Accord.

This is very much possible. Look for a Directed Valet 561T at any Directed dealer. This adds on to your vehicle and works off of the factory fobs. The only difference in doing this is you are limited to the range of the factory remote vs. an aftermarket remote. But it still works great.

It is very possible i did it on a few years back on a similer car every one said cant be done BUT I Used to install alarms and remote starters, I got so pissed off that I did it my self all you need is a stand alone remote starter, a 555U or 555H box find the lock wire and set the Remote start to dubble pulse you will have to lock twice then unlock fast to dis arm the alarm but most remot starts have a wire to do that BUT you really need to know how to install alrmes that's why just pay and get the after marked it is simpler

It is definitely possible. I had it done on my '03 TL-S. I had a DEI starter installed and originally wanted to use the factory keyfob. I had to hit the lock button 3 times in a row and the car started. To be honest, it sucked... There was absolutely horrible range. By the time I got close enough for all 3 button presses to actually start the car, I might as well have just gotten in the car and started it myself. I had it changed to the DEI remote. Now with the DEI remote, I hold 2 buttons down and the car starts from a VERY far distance.......

If you really want it, you can have it done, but I guarantee you will change your mind!!

There is a DEI remote start alarm that works with the Acura Keyfob.

For alarms that use the factory keyfob, once it gets remote started, you will have to unlock your car with the key and will not be able to unlock it with your remote.
