Post Remembering the 96/97 TL

I know I know, my 97 2.5 TL is nothing but a Vigor in a Tuxedo, this is very much true, but at least it looks good in it..This is my first car out of college, I got it in May00...ofcourse I wanted a new body style, but hey...im a TL owner with the same love for my car as you guys...I found it necessary though to remove the 2.5 dishonor badge though plus i no longer consider it a 2.5 anyway, about my car...the car is lowered 2 inches, has exhaust, champagne in color, purple HID'z, cleared out bumper lenses with purple hid color bulbs-split wire so the flashers are now fog lights..., illegal mirror tinted windows, has a uniquely made turbocharger thanks to a performance shop near here, who did some magic from one on an accord, {19inch rims after a lot of shaving in the wheel well and nitrous are on the way}.......yet n still my poor car gets no respect, Integras, oh god these freakin Integra give me PURE HELL!! everyday, i repeatedly have to drop my car in D3(more pick up) and sooner or later sail away.screamin {"we are in the same family!!!!!"}....it ate a 528 for dinner one night off the line....i recently took a brutal spankin that left welts from an old gs300 but hey....but just know that the old TL'S are a force to be reckon with once they are opened up an tuned like any ither honda product and will raise fuggin hell when provoked! , there may not be many of us but we are still representin ACURA and absolutely adore our next generation siblings...what are your thoughts on th e old TL'S, a pic of mine is on the way

Yea, last-gen TLs are sweet. They're what made me check the acura dealer when I was shopping for a new Bimmer a few months back, and of course the rest was history!

FWIW, your TL has something ours never will: Made-in-Japan quality! Mine had to be taken back to the dealer to get the driver's door to close flush (it does now, thanks Acura), and it has a couple minorly annoying rattles. However, the car is so quiet that you notice stuff like that that you wouldn't even hear in a Bimmer.

Also, I think the last-gen TLs look a little more distinctive, which I like.

If I had to buy a used car for around $15K, though, I'd get a J30t, the old ones that had the round butt. Man, those are sweet, fast and ride like buttah!
