Regular unleaded fuel...feel the "knock"
Due to the cost of fuel these days i have been putting regular unleaded fuel in my A-spec..i usually opt for the higher octane supreme but at $1.03 a litre it can get very expensive....ever since the switch i have noticed the slight hesitation with accleration the "knock" just woundering if anyone else has done this...i know premium fuel is better..but will me using the regular lower octane fuel hurt my baby in the long run....??????

According to the owners manual "long term use of regular grade gasoline can lead to engine damage". My advice to you is if your leasing or plan to keep the car only a few years then continue doing what your doing. But if you plan on keeping your car for a long time either put the proper octane or dont drive it until you have enough cash to pay for premium fuel.

do the car a favor and put back in premium (minimum 91) especially since you have the A-spec

he says regular unleaded, which means he's putting 87...
maybe you should think of trading in a civic DX, which runs 87 gas and almost 40mpg on hwy

New ride...Acura MDX 2013
I used to use the 91 grade then went to the Sunoco 94 now thats all my car will run on I wouldn't even think of going under 91 . I think the fuel door says to use premium unleaded only and I don't think its really to help the gas companies profits, its so the car will run at optimum performance levels
