Refinish Foglight housing? (PICS)

I recently bought drivers side lexan lens to replace my crappy broken glass lens, when I opened it up I found out that inside the foglight housing the reflective material on the bottom of the housing was all scratched and stuff, looked like shit, here are some pics:

Is there any way I can refinish the reflective foglight housing?

Can I use tinfoil as a cheap alternative? Will it melt?

Thanks for looking!

Tinfoil? C'mom men! You are driving an Acura TL.... By new or used ones in the blackmarket of this forum or of Ebay (Fog lamp set)

It's 180.00 but it's a lot cheaper than it was years ago, or even what it will cost at the dealer. If you don't have the money now, wait and do it the right way.

I giess, I'll wait to buy a new one then, but the fact is that I already bought a new lexan lens for it and I dont need anything else excpt for the reflective housing part.

I had the same problem and I bought a fog light from one of the members on this forum for $50.

I wiped it prior taking the pics, definetely not dirt.
If I cant find anything to wrap it with its no biggie, it just looks kinda ugly, cuz the top and the bottom give minimum reflection anyways (doesn't look as shiny as the reflective material on the sides).

If I paint over the reflective material, I would decrease the light output dramatically (I want my HID figs to be as bright as possible). Yes I just recently installed my HID fogs, but I saw a little bit of fogging, so I just bought a whole new lexan lens to replace it and to seal it up properly.

Same thing happened to me when I had a broken fog light and replaced it with lexan. I just bought some "chrome" spray paint and painted it. It didn't turn out the same as before but it was ok. You can only tell a difference when looking really close. I have h.i.d. fogs also and there is a slight reflectiveness difference. It'll do until I get money for a new fog light.

I say black it out too. And just wait to buy a new set. Put the new lexan lenses in the new set you put for preventive maintenance.

Buy a new set and if you ever crack the lens again you'll have the lexan lenses for a back up to replace the cracked lens. So either way you wont lose.

Thanks for all of your opinions guys, I just replaced the glass with the lexan lense and popped the foglight back into the bumper. I'll just buy a new one when I see it come by me for cheap. I will not black out my fogs unless I do my headlights first, I think it would look wierd with only the fogs blacked out and it will probably decrease the overall light output like I said before.

Thanks for looking!
