Hey, i'm kinda thinking about getting the TL resprayed. Its currently SSM like in my pic, just curious, has anybody ever seen a bright red TL before? Obviously its not stock, but Just wondering if there was a custom painted red one before, like TSX red. I'm a fan of red cars so I think our cars would look good with the tail lights

 

Ive seen a custom painted candy apple red which is darker than the TSX red. Theres also FPR. But it would cost a pretty penny to have it painted red the right way. Thats a big color change. They would have to spray everything including the jams and everything. I dunno how I feel about bright red on the TL. But since you say you like red cars it may suit you.

 

I actually love black cars but I havent seen red and was just curious if anybody has seen, or better yet have a picture on one. I have a buddy that paints at a shop that is a contractor for Hondas, so he works on honda/acuras only and has been doing it for 15 years, so the cost is cut down by a lot.

 

you could change the HUE on a FPR in photoshop pretty easily.

ps. red is EXPENSIVE compared to some colors...

Wow, well yea that would help your costs alot. Have you seen Fire Pepper Red? It looks really good on the TL

yea painting it a different color is always a lot of trouble, Ive done it multiple times on older projects back in the days. Stupid kids sliding down my hill during the snow strom messed up my paint and front lip last month so I have to get that resprayed. The red CLs are sick but yea, it sounds like a hit or miss with the 2gs, maybe I'll chop it when I get home from work. I love my car, SSM is not my fav but it was a super good deal and I had good trade in value on my lude, but SSM is so boring.

 

Can't go wrong with black. IMO, red is more for the 2 door sports cars such as a corvette or even a s2000.

yea bro i dont think our body lines are cut out for a red like the TSX....FPR is sexy though...u should go that route instead of a bright red...maybe datz why Acura stayed away from that brighter red..

 

Brighter red has a tendency to look plastic-y on some cars - especially the true reds on Hondas/Acuras. A darker red would be a better option. Here's FPR:

I have Fire Pepper Red it's nice. The sun isn't kind to it. But after 9 years it looks good. Color is coming back in cars so its not as dated look when compared to all the grays and silvers that were popular late 90's early 00's

i swear 9 out of 10 cars on the road today is silver, white, or black

imo your just another face in the crowd, of course people who like those colors dont apply.. but if your RE-painting... be different. stand out (in a goodway)

blue, red, green, hell id like to see a decent yellow color on a TL.

somebody will chop that FPR soon though... we shall see

I would say no to the TSX red. Its kinda loud, although I am partial to FPR. I would say a darker red with a pearl added.

 

I love neutral colors. These are my favorites, in order.

AM, WDP, SSM, NBP. I really like silver, but it looks cheap on some cars. Acura's SSM is kind of a boring color. I love the AM color, it has a lot of sparkle for such a dark color.

Do what you want, but hope you don't wreck. I remember when my sister was in high school, my parents bought her a new Ford Fucus and she hit a deer. It took the body shop 3 times to get the red right. Never looked the same after, although you couldn't tell if you didn't know it had been hit, but we knew it was there. If your OCD, red is not the color.

FPR is my fave (obvisously) and i do like that blue that our cars came in too. But red is soooo sexy. all the chrome accents, door handles , window trim, front grill, wheels, emblems, everything just pops out! with the ground effects and lowered. YEAH BABY! i'm gettin turned on over here. HA

i always like ABP the best.. its such a perfect blue

 

yeah ABP was the blue i ment. i've seen another member on here with some good pics of theres with oem kit. (still not as hot as FPR thought)
