Recommended MAX drop with 18" rims
I'm buying 18" rims with 40 or 45 series x 225. Tires are 8" W. I want to drop my car, 2" inches max. Maybe 1.5 front, 1.25 back.
If I run 18x8's - what is the max drop I can do without having to start cutting and modding my wheel wells? Will 8" wide wheels stick out too far from the wheel well? Will they rub? Or effect steering/ handling/ performance?
Very green here. Would like to figure out my drop before I invest in some rims.
Any advice is appreciated!

Read this thread. it will explain everything you need to know about wheel size and offset.
these cars are quite old, there is a high likelihood that someone else has already done what you are trying to do, and as a result searching will be more efficient than waiting for someone to come along with an answer.
