Reason for tranny failure....??

could the reason for tranny failure that some ppl have had on this board be because of the mods that have increased their HP in their cars...cuz from most of the ppl that have tranny failure have had mods done to their cars, especially engine mods that increase HP like CAI or Headers...
could the increase in HP be the cause of all these tranny failures...
i've been thinkin of gettin a CAI but hesitated b/c of this...
can someone clear this up for me??....or is this true....

if your tranny is going to fail, it will fail nonetheless, because the tranny is supposed to take up to 350hp or something, but apparently there may be a flaw in the design, causing roughly 7%(right now, according to this board) of the cars' trannies to fail

but don't worry, if you want to get it installed, then do it, you never know, the transmission won't fail just because you got the little bit of extra power

a lot of people here will tell you they drive like old ladies but their cars still failed, and a lot of people here drive like mad men, and the trannies are still good as new, who knows, this is the internet, you cant believe everything you read, just go ahead, get it, and good like iwth it

No...uh, just ...NO!

Read the threads...many of us with failed trannies had just the completely stock TL-S...

gohan, now that you mentioned this I think I am starting to realize that I should not have used my TL-S to plow cornfields, that's what the tractors are for. But hey I thought TL-S had enough power to do it. A little late but thanks anyway for making me understand how to use my car better. Next time I will take better care of it.

i read from the CL forum that the faiulures are doe to lack of cooling in the transmission? this guys who claims to work at an acura dealer said that the engineers thought they could get away with the fluids self-cooling, but they heat up too quickly and cause damage, and he recommandes frequent oil change...
you never know though, this is the internet, full of bs

I've had more trannies than I've had mods.

Trannies = 3
Mods = 0

I don't think they're at all related. Do some research here and you'll see.
