Reariview camera installed!
Yesterday installed my very first rearview camera on the TL-S, thanks to Fiddler for his help. I decided to beta-test with a b/w camera at first, cuz its a lot cheaper than a color one, and the case i made for it is not that great. but its a start. the camera works great, the image is done through my alpine LCD screen thats also used for dvd and navi system. resolution is at 420 lines, and so its like watching TV only u can see whats going on behind u. i did this for parking purposes, but its a really cool toy, and now i can see the license plate numbers of those behind me i still have some adjustments to do, and i need to design a better case and see how weather resistant it is, but it looks like it'll be really cool. i'll have pics posted soon, cuz right now i have no dsl at home.

The setup was actually relatively straigh forward and is kinda fun.. gets me carsick if i keep on looking at the screen though
Its not the prettiest looking setup right now, but has potential.. would be nice to mount cameras on the front corners of the bumper to see around corners. Anyone know of good A/B type switches for video or a video multiplexer that will do that security camera like thing where it splits 4 cameras into one monitor and you see all 4 in sections?

not yet, so its kinda weird at first. but since the camera does not have any kind of brain, i cant use a computer to flip the image. once i have a fully functional weatherproof color setup, i'll start working on having it reflect off a mirror, so that u get an image that is "true" left-to-right from the drivers point of view. but until thats done, and really the more important reason i did it, is so i know where the bumper ends and the wall begins, instead of inching ever so slowly trying not to hit nething behind.

But a mirror setup may be sufficient! Sounds cool, actually.
