Rear View Mirror HELP!

Hello All,

No rear view mirror explosion ...I do however have a rear view mirror that's hanging by the wiring only. Meaning that the back plastic that holds the mirror in place to the plate on the windshield, which also allows to pivot has broken !
Can anyone help me remove the rear view mirror, i have taken off the wire cover and braket cover but can i take of the spring mounting? How do i disconnect the wiring...from the inside of mirror or do i need to take off the headliner to disconnect? I need help...what's the best way to go about resolving this issue? Plus I don't know if I will have to end up buying the complete mirror assembly to just fix that piece. Has anyone gone through this...HELP!

Thanks everyone!

I believe you have to remove the sunglasses holder and map lights to get to the mirror wire harness.

Right on...i was working that as i waited for answers. Now my issue is how do i get the plug end of the wire harness through the bracket on the front winshield? Is there a way to remove just the wires without having to clip/cut them from the plug end of the harness? I suppose there has to be becuase the dealer will replace it this way...unless they clip it once the wire is run through...

Appreciate the reply!

If it's a molex type of connector you can usually release the wire terminals from the connector body. There are all sorts of styles of terminals. Get a magnifier and look for release tangs on the terminals. Be warned if that's what you're dealing with they can be fragile. Are you sure there's no other way to do it?

I knew there was a DIY here...just couldn't remember what it was. I found it.
