Hey guys, i'm plannin to convert my rear tails to leds.. i was thinking about getting some parts from the 07 accords OR get one of those light bulbs that spilt up into multiple leds....

even the 3rd brake light (which is the easiest) ..

let me know ur thoughts regarding this..

 

if done right it will be subtle, yet clean... i say if you have any idea what you're doing then go for it... you should also look into red led turn signals for the tails to give it that all red look a lot of the newer cars are going with.

 

Very very cool idea. Go for it, and post your trials and results. I'm very interested.

 

if you do it, please, please, please, make a DIY..

After all this time, I still CANNOT believe no aftermarket company has created a drop in LED tail replacement for our cars!!! It is so frustrating that we have to retrofit this kind of conversion. Yeah it's cool to be creative and all, but there are some very nice plug n play aftermarket LED conversions for many cars/trucks/suvs, but no love for the TL....arggghhhhh!!!! I say go for it!!!! Some folks have done it, do a search to see their posts. One guy inserted a strip of a lot of LEDs and it looks very nice...can't remember the member though.

 

i was looking for an aftermarket one for a long time and yet no one is making it. i actually bought some 10mm 70,000 mcd LED and circuit board to try it out and it is damn bright.

I am thinking about taking out the taillights when is warmer and tear it apart. Hopefully soon.....

That's probably the best way to go in order to get nice uniform LED light rather than using plug-n-play LED bulbs.

 

thats exactly what i was plannin to do... i need to take it apart so i can put a custom board in there with leds... because the TL tails already have a splitter that spilts the regular bulb light into a semi led look so i dont want it to clash together... i want to smooth it out and then put the led board so it will look like leds through a peice of glass.
