rear rotors & Pads
My 2000 TL started making this noise from the rear side.
I went to dealer to see why. They said Brake pads and Rotors need to be changed.... cost 500$.
Does any body have a better suggestion of where to take it to have it done cheaper?
Is it necessary to change the rotor or I can get them resurfaced?

You should do it yourself. The rears are just as easy as the fronts. The rear caliper just needs to be pushed in with a c-clamp rather than turned inward with a rear caliper tool. I found this out this weekend when I changed my fronts and rears. otherwise any shop can do a brake job less than the dealer.

upgrade to drilled and or slotted rotors, they have them on ebay, you can also get AXXIS performance pads off ebay, if you only want rear you can, but for less then $500 you can have all of the brakes redone rotors and pads. It will look much nicer then stock also. I got mine from irotor off ebay and like the look of the drilled/slotted rotors. Call this # for pads it is in Jersey and this guy is good, he helped me out a lot, 973-761-5054, David is his name. He knows everything about brakes! Good Luck!
