Post Rear Factory Sway bar

I bought my Tl (2002 type S ) last fall from a used car dealer. Acura dealership had just done the latest service on it the day before, so I didnt look to hard at the suspension components beforehand.
I replaced the rear brake pads a couple weeks ago and noticed that on both sides the rear sway bar end-link was broken. I have a subscription to alldatadiy.com and found a TSB on this. Long story short, after arguning with only local Acura dealer over the last few weeks, if i want it fixed I will have to foot the bill. There is a replacement kit as per the TSB, but the dealer wants $300.00 for this.

Is there a better solution?

Thanks

Try calling Acura Customer Care and tell them your situation and try to get them to goodwill the repair.

replace your ENDLINKS with MOOG ones, $15 each.

K90343 Rear Left

Napa has them for $21.49 a piece and I would replace them both so they match.

Even though this is for a CL, the application guide on www.rockauto.com
I have them on my car and I can tell you, they are way thicker than the ones H/A put on our cars. As well, these do NOT use the stupid hex key to undo, you just need a (14mm i think) to undo them.

Installing/swapping endlinks is pretty easy.

Thing is its a TSB, all that means is if the car gets brought in there are new or updated parts or a new procedure to fix something. Its not a recall or warranty extension, so they arent obligated to fix any thing good will.

That said, buy them yourself from the dealer and install them your self with a set of wrenches and 1hr or less of your time. Like above you can buy better ones for around 30 bucks for the pair or like 40 from the dealer.

worth the money for moog. I just order mine. I snapped an endlink last night trying to remove struts. Awful experience.

Next time DONT try to remove the endlink. Remove the 1 bolt holding the endlink bracket and swing the whole thing out of the way.

Also remember to jack up the entire front end or rear end to prevent that from happening. If you jack up only on side, the sway bar is loaded and can do what happened to you.

I did exactly that. But I pulled the strut out and could not get the OEM top hat off after I compressed the spring. So, I had to reinstall the OEM strut.

It got very difficult to put the brake line bracket back on the strut, so my friend took over and started messing around. I didn't have control at that point.

In my opinion it was worth happening in order to buy these moog for both sides. Especially to get ready for my progress rear sway bar.

Air tools will also aid me next time I get under the car.
