hey guys,

I've got a song that I play with crazy amounts of bass. I usually crank the bass up to the maximum. When I do this, there's an evident rattle from the trunk. So I played the song with my head in the trunk, and it does seem like something is really rattling. Is there a way to fix this?


Has anyone else had this problem? I assume I could take it to the dealer and have them play the same song with the bass all the way up. It's not like they won't be able to "reproduce it". I mean f*ck, all you gotta do is start the song.

anyone know what's rattling? is this a known issue?

 

there's been people whove had their decklid rattle...i think dynamatting solves most of the rattler...loooks like you still have your stock sub..something must be really lose if that can make it shake

do you think the dealer will give me some run around about me not playing the bass that high?

I mean I'm sick of all these f*cking rattles in this car. When is it gonna end?

 

just open the trunk and feel around for the rattle. I'll bet you it's the little plastic piece that seperates the two tention bars that lift the trunk up. Mine was rattling like a beeach before i rapped a tyewrap around it.

 

It's probably the torsion beam directly beneath the factory subwoofer. There's a DIY out there for this. Let me find it and post it.

Since I have 2 10"s in the trunk, it doesn't help any. Mine rattles like a mofo when the subs hit. Too lazy to fix it, though. Heh. It doesn't bother me much since it only rattles when bass hits, and when it does, I can't really hear the torsion bar rattling.

did i read the instuctions right? just remove the tortion bar spacer????If so hell its plastic, just break the little fer outa there

 

can you hear the rattle from inside the car or outside the car?

 

dynomat and foam, lotts of it

 

it could be the License Plate shakin', if thas the problem, put a few cotton ballz under it
