Rammed from behind!

I was on my home yesterday and was sitting in traffic when all of a sudden my face is in the steering column!, i had my seat belt on dont worry. I knew right away that someone had wacked the back of my car. So here i go getting all heated. I mean ive had the car for 2 months and this happens to me. I get out of my car expecting to see the back bumper like falling off or the back of the car like smashed. Come to realize that this moron didnt even put a scratch on the dam thing. He seriously must have been going like 5 to 10 mph when he slammed into me. i was so pissed when i got out the car but then saw that there was nothing wrong and cooled off really quick. it was some old man not paying attention to the road, the typical fender bender, but no fender bent here. lucky i was, that no serious damage was done. but it still shook my ass up. lucky me!

You might still want to get the inside of the bumber checked. I saw somewhere that you have some styrofoam (sp?) in the bumper that protects the car and that even a little fender bender can damage that and it will need to be replaced. I may be wrong so maybe someone else can chime in.

I'd be pretty pissed off myself. I'm a pretty nice guy but can have a short temper on the road.

Yeah, the bumper is just a block of styrofoam to guard against low speed collisions. It's possible that the bumper might return to its normal shape but the inside material is toast. Get it checked out. Besides, any expenses should be on him, so make sure your car's ok.

The rear bumper on the TL is quite strong..

I got rea ended at about 15mph, and there were just some scratches..

my friend got rear ended in his 99TL and you can't even tell.. the dude that hit him was trying to drive away, and my friend chased him for about 5 blocks..

but the focker got away when he hit a school zone.. my friend didn't want to be responsible for hitting any kids..

Imagine if you were on the freeway and you had the Brembo's :wow: Thank god this was only a minor bump......but seriously...the foam inside might still hold up...but it's a strong possibility that it is cracked.

Damn, that title just sounds a bit too homo!!
Sorry to hear about your ride. Same thing happened to me the first time I took my wife out for a ride in the car. Some d!ckwad on a cell phone rear ends me on the highway (he was probably going about the same speed, but it was hard).
I think I would have pummeled the guy if anything happed and then would have made him pay for the repairs!

Get it checked out for sure. I got rear ended a month after I got my car, was just little tear. Took it to the body shop and the estimate wound up being over 1k becuase of damages behind the bumper.

I agree get it checked out I also saw that thing on tv.
They said even the minor fendor bender with the bumper could cause damage. I remeber on my 90 ACCORD a guy hit me from behind & I was at a stop in traffic. The impact pushed me into the car in front of me. It was a chain reaction crash 4 cars involved. The ACCORDs bumpers seperated front & back. The 1st insurance inspection did not find out that something else was wrong with the rear bumper. It was an extra $200 worth of damage to the car after they worked on it.

Just this last weekend my car got rammed from behind in a parking lot. Punk employee rammed it with a golf cart (I was at a golf course). Nasty dent in the corner of the bumper.
