you need the owner book for THAT aftermarket radio--does it have
`security lockout code` like the stock radio deck?

codes are specific to the device,, not the car

I thought you had to put in the radio code if you disconnect the car battery?

thats if you have the stock radio
When it senses a battery disconnect it thinks its being stolen and locks down

To make it work again you enter the secret code- for that radio- into it and back in biz!

Yes, that's IF your aftermarket HU has a lockout code.

Thats the real question-
read the owner book for the aftermarket radio- IF it has a security lockout- hopefully someone has written the code in the owner book

What kind of stereo-
do a google search for the model number of the stereo + security if you dont have an owner book to see if it has that feature

Group??- on average- what replacements have security?
