Radio Code help?

I disconnected my battery on my 2000 TL (90,000 MILES) to clear the check engine light. Fortunately it hasnt come back on however I bought the car used and it is asking for the radio code.

Where should I go?

anyone know what the dealer would charge?
Am I better off upgrading to another stereo 6cd changer?

thanks

Radio Code

Acura does not charge for the code, you can go into any parts department and ask them for it. Just provide then the serial number of the HU and maybe your ID. They have to call their main office to get the code, or look it up on their computer. But most likely they will have to call it in to get the code

first look in the glove compartment or in the leather case that the manual is in. there should be a little white card with it on it!.

All you need to do is to remove the trim on the RIGHT side of the radio. There should be a little sticker on the side of the radio with the serial number on it.

All you gotta do is take the serial number to any acura dealer, and they will tell you the code.

The trim is EXTREMELY easy to remove, all you need to do is pop-it loose.

I had a dealer ask for 80.00 to get me the serial, because he said it was BEHIND the radio....

BULL_____!!! It took me 10 minutes to remove the trim, and write down the serial number of the radio...

Cheers!

The code was nowhere to be found, not in the glovebox, manual, fuse cover, door etc...

Fortuantely one of the previous owner's dealers did call me back, she later gave me the code after i faxed over the registration and my drivers license

thanks to everyone for their advice

Acura Dealership (like the Acura Plaza in Brooklyn New York) will NOT give you the code for free, why? cauz they are greedy a$$holes, unless, they are nice enough to retrieve the code for you if you provide the serial. (just beg, plead, yell, all of the above combined should work )

they still managed to charge me 80 bux. I hate that place.

But Im glad that u got it! peace
