Radio: Anti-Theft Question???

I'm still having trouble getting the radio to accept the code I've entered since the last battery disconnect. I'm positive the code is correct but is there a special method to entering the code i.e. key in on position w/car off and me clicking my heels together simutaneously.

sorry for the stupid question but the car is still relatively new to me and i dont want to take it to the dealer for this unless its a last resort.

call a dealer, they would know, or you might just be able to take it to them and have them do it real quick if its a nice dealer

all you should have to do is turn the key to the run position and enter the code when it asks. be carefull, if you enter it wrong to many times the radio will lock up and you will have to contact the dealer to resolve the issue

... i think if you enter it many times, it will lock up, but after so and so hours and resets.. and then you have another (is it 10?) tries..

This happened to be once. I entered like 3 times CORRECTLY I did it with 3 people in the car when I tried the second time mind you it was 100% correct. It just kept increase the ERR. Finally on the 4th or 5th one it took it. It was fucking weird. I have no clue why. The battery had died before and I had to jump start it so I needed to enter the code.

ok. so i tried this thing i read on another website. where i turn the radio off, hold presets 1 & 6, turn the radio on, and out comes a code, supposedly the serial number.

the code i got was U 3000 / L 1334, which is different from the serial number on the anti-theft card i received with purchase of the car AB001334.

does anyone know anything about this?

Will this also work for a 01 accord? I just bought the car and don't have the radio code. I went to a honda dealer and was told they need the serial# from the back of the radio. They can't look it up by the VIN#. Does that sound right? I don't want to have to pull the radio out if i don't have to.

I just replaced my battery and I'm trying to enter the radio code. I'm on my 2nd try and it's not working. So if after 10 tries it locked me out, will it reset if I remove the battery?
