RACK AND PINION GONE after small hit.
RACK AND PINION GONE after small hit.
Guys, i created a thread before about my ball bearings going and how its hard to steer, well after tryin to get it fixed today, it turns out that it is my RACK AND PINION that is gone! ... the problem is... i hit a curb while the steering wheel was completely turned and i guess it forced it even more and bent the rack and pinion...
new rack and pinion is 1000+ $$
.... plus lots of labour.... sigh... never knew a small hit can cause this much damage... any suggestions? ... any of you replaced one before? gonna get it fixed tomorrow.. as my steering is hardcore and freezes in the direction i turn the wheel... (does not turn back to the center like it should)

Guess you wont be coming up this Saturday???
hmm well i'm gettin it fixed tom so ya... ( i like to get things fixed asap since i think too much), so hopefully i can still reach up there if all goes well... otherwise it'll be another time but VERY SOON! ehhe the green on the dash is really annoying.. but mannn the gauges are crazy.. and guess wat... i had my sunglasses on... and i can clearly see the gauges in bright sunlight... so wat i'm thinkign is.. maybe i CAN tint it.. since the leds are pretty bright.. i'll be able to see it properly during the day and obviously night time is not a problem at all.... and it will still look just as hot! also the blue turn signals are Blinding lol.... but i like it anyways hehe... they look crazy.. so nowadays i ALWAYS use the turn signals whenever i'm changing lanes....
now back to the topic.. ya... damn rack and pinion.... oh well... i'm still changing the balljoints since everything is apart neways.... hopefully everything will be back to normal. .. who knew a small curb hit would due this much damage...
TIP : when ur about to hit the curb... make sure the steering is centered and don't try to steer it all the way to one specific side (if ur car is already out of control and not responding to the steering, such as in ice/snow).
