Visited Floyd Benett field again today... beautiful weather - around 50 degrees, but kinda windy... nehow, this time had a better turnout, and got some driving done



that was our lineup... mr2 ('00 i think), my 2k tl, 2000 323i, and a 98 accord coupe... we did about 0 - 115-120...

the results are as follows:
The undisputed winner (except for one bad start where i won): was the MR2. that little 138hp, 2100lbs yellow 2 seater is a stick that left us by at least a carlength.

In second place: my shiny black TL with the new Pirelli p7000ss (without which i lost to the accord, who has the same tires)

In third: the Accord, although on a couple of occasions towards the end he seemed to be inching on me when i shifted into 4th.

In fourth: the highly disappointed driver of the 323i by more than 2 car lenghts every time... oh well... still pretty good for 3200lbs 170hp 2.5 liter

and last and certainly least: the green MB ML320(made with pride in USA) that can be seen in the background with the open hood... much like in real racing, before the race started he was out with technical difficulties, we later tracked it down to a faulty relay which prevented him from even starting the car. Oh well, supposedly he can take a 5.0 mustang(i seriously doubt it)... maybe next time =)

if any of you guys are up to this, lets get together... this is not restricted to any one class of cars.. its all good fun... and there were a couple of cops there, but they never bothered us, just passed by and left or watched for a while....

btw, i'll post more pics when they are developed (from regular cameras) and a couple that i dont have time to get ready right now...

just to set the record straight, on a couple runs, i did beat the tl by the time we got up to around 90 or so .. tl had better acceleration, but i pulled out in high end.. oh well there will be more races and more time to settle this .. anyone got a Gtech they wanna come by with?

I got a Gtech to bring.... I find it hard to believe that the cops left you guys alone.... damn, the MR2 is that fast??? I originally was gonna get it instead of TL, but since it's RWD (heavy snow and icy roads), I picked the TL.
