I was cruising down Bathurst st. when this guy in a sick S2000 starts pulling up on my tail. Luckily I had the A/C off, and I quickly jammed into SS mode and put it in 2nd gear. He advanced pretty quickly so I gunned it. I swirved into the right lane so we could go head to head. I geared at about 130 km/h and into 3rd. Both our VTEC's were roaring, and we were pretty much together the whole time. I was surprised he couldn't pass me. We came up to the lights at Bathurst and Steeles, and I asked him whether he was flooring it, he claims that he was. Anyways the light turns green, I torque braked, and took off. He didn't get a good start as he spun too much, and therefore I took him by about a car length. Finally at about 80 km/h he caught up and passed me by about 1.5 Car lengths. When My car geared into third, I was able to come plush with his car, up until about 180 km/h when he completely flew by. Wow those cars really get an extra boost passed 180 km/h, or could it be that our cars fall asleep in 4th gear. In any event, I got to finch about 2 km/h away in like 45 seconds. It was an amazing experience, but I can safely say, he won the race. I was truly amazed and happy at how well my TL kept up with his. I really felt good flooring the car, and the response it gave me was unbelieveable. For once I was proud to be the owner of this TL. I found in the past I wasn't getting the boost I really should have been getting. Tonight, all my doubts have vanished!!!

I love the sound of VTEC btw. It makes the car sound soooooo much faster!

BTW when we stopped at the lights, I noticed he was lower, had new rims, and had cross drilled rotors in the front!!! what a sick look ride it was.

our cars are no sloutch dude 260 HP is ALOT for a sedan but yeah in the end he will spank you. good run though, good representing!!!!!

thanks dude. I definitely felt proud the rest of the night. I don't think the guy realized just how fast our TL's really are. In the end, it was a great experience.

All I want to do is drive now!!!

how much more? At 180 km/h it seemed like the guy had a lot more room too book away. I on the otherhand fell right into that 4th gear trap, and virtually any car could have rolled by me. Why do our cars have such a weak 4th gear, and not to mention an even weaker 5th gear?

He got the extra boost from his car weight and FR does make a big differece.
I'm feel good about our car too.
