Take some weight off:

- Empty your trunk (esp the spare)
- Take out any misc stuff from the cabin/glove box (Manuals, etc)
- 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas, max.

No Burnouts to "heat" the tires (waste of rubber w/street tires)
Check if helmets are required (often not for drags, but yes for track days)

Work on your launch (brake torque if AT to ~2000 rpm) and test with VSA on and off.

Have fun. Don't blow up that engine.

I heard that taking the shields off your engine would help it cool faster, and something about ice bags on top of the intake manifold to cool it, but I was wasted when I read it so I forgot lol, good luck.

Make sure to wear long pants......I'm not sure how the rules are where you live but in Miami I couldn't take my car on the strip because I had shorts on....

Agreed with most of the above, except:

I would spin the tires for a second or two in order to get rid of any sand or debree that might be hanging around from driving up to the staging line

- Take out the passenger seat, floormats, and rear seat (saves a decent amount of weight)
- Don't deflate the tires!! Leave them at their recommended pressure. If you deflate them, the outer edges of the contact surface can end up taking the majority of the load, limiting your traction
- Leave VSA off for sure. If you're car acts like mine under WOT, you'll chirp into 2nd gear, which activates the VSA and will cost you time & MPH
- Fold in the mirrors (can't hurt right??)
- Don't drive through the water

And most definitely - have fun!!

it sprays under WOT, i was gonna spray a 75shot but i couldnt find my jet so a 65 will work. im running the zex dry system and colder spark plugs from zex bc of the excess amount of heat that is created in the cylinder

Take some pics and/or a vid for us! I live in Chicago and I was planning on heading out to that track w/ some buddies in a few weeks (probably take the day off work on a Tuesday or something though - less crowded?) I'm sure we'd all love to see some action shots!
BTW, my friends run some pretty nice cars...I'll let you know when we head up there if you ever wanna go again:
Mercedes AMG S55 - stock
01 Ford Cobra w/ Exhaust
Chevy Cobalt SS w/ Stage 3 SC kit/pulleys/exhaust (and it's yellow! lol)

Don't forget to take WHATEVER you can out of your car to reduce weight (especially gas, there's a station right by there, so try to be almost out of gas when you arrive to race). We all know the TL is a bit of a fat-ass - but no doubt it'll haul w/ a juicy shot!

That passenger side seat is fricken HEAVY...good advice. Just be careful lifting that thing through the door.

ill be running a 75 wet shot so ill have atleast 310whp. well ur gonna have a WOT switch right? cause u dont wanna have it spray on WOT in 1st, that means no traction. i would spray top of 2nd or low 3rd

in fist gear i dont floor it right away and in 2nd i go all out. the wet shot if safer bc ur getting the same amount of nitrous into each cylinder unlike dry where it goes where it wants to but u have to tap into the intake manifold and start driling.

dayum.. 14.9.. nice.

what's your trap speed? weather condition? humidity level? sea level? and did u take anything out of your car?

Fastest I ran with my 3rd gen was 15.06 in 95+deg. weather, shitty prepped track.. with just a AEM CAI. I'm tryna be in the 14 sec. club I will be back there rippin it up in the 14's with better weather, hopefully.

my 60 foot sucked bc i kept peeling out if i floored it so i tried not to. it was about 80 deg outside. i gonna go out there in a couple of weeks with a 100 shot this time im hoping to get into the 13s then ill be happy. the only thing i took out was my spare tire.

^exactly what I did.. only spare tire... I might leave it in there this time tho. So I know what kinda times i'm running with it on, so i can compare them when i race with my friends on the empty streets of the south bay.

try going easy on the throttle in first gear... And once you pick up enough speed, so it doesn't burn out, WOT.

was the track prepped up?

i went easy on one of my runs but still got some wheel spin towards the end of 1st. the track was prepped pretty good, it could of been better around the 60 foot though

Did you shift using SS, or did you gateshift, or did you just leave it in D5?
