Race with a Cadillac Deville Concours

It was a young man probably driving his father's Concours ('95 or 97).

Holy cow, I was so impressed that Caddy could keep up with me from 0 to 60 mph. By 55mph, I started to gain 1 carlenght advantage.

I know that the Concours has 300 bhp, and share the same engine as the STS.

Conclusion, the Type S is still faster by 1 car lenght 0-60mph.
Above that speed, TL-S is much more faster.

Anyone has driven one of those Nortstar engine yet?

I rented a caddy with the Northstar in it a few years back when I took the family to Disney World. It really had a lot of get up and go for such a big thing! It wasnt comfortable though and it was like looking over the kitchen table driving the thing. It was something like a $45K car then and I just couldnt see someone paying that kind of money for it. Doors weighed about 300 pounds each (4 of them) and had that typical GM sound when closing...you know the one... THWANK!!

To paraphrase James Carville, "It's the torque, stupid!"

I have driven several STS's, and they are fast out of the hole. As your race indicates, HP starts to play more as speed increase. It is justr the nature of the beast.
