Questions on some mods

hello there guys i have a few questions on the TL. i have a 2000 3.2 tl and heres my questions:

1) Are the Obx headers C.A.R.B Legal and can you pass smog if you have them on along with a AEM CAI?
2) Are the bypass valves necessary to go with the AEM CAI? and what difference does it make with the bypass valve? I heard it makes it sound more aggressive and is used when it is raining so the filter doesnt suck up water? Am i right?
3) Whenever i run a bump something makes a noise. I am thinking it might be the brake alignment or the struts or shocks.
4) How many of you guys have the Sarona bodykit on your TL?

I am greatful for all the answers, Thanks guys...

1. OBX Headers are not CARB Certified. Only the Comptech Headers have a CARB number on them. I've heard that some places will inspect the car and as long as you pass the smog test then you don't have to worry about not having a CARB number for the OBX headers, but I'm not sure since I don't live in CA. I'm pretty sure that you'll have no problems passing an emissions test with the OBX headers and CAI.

2. Bypass valves are not necessary and unless you really plan on driving through flooded streets often I wouldn't worry about it. The bypass valve could potentially be very dangerous if you don't clean it often enough. There was a guy from a-cl.com that had his bypass valve fall apart and get sucked in through the CAI into the throttle body. The result was his throttle body got stuck open and his car wouldn't stop. The CAI alone won't suck up any water when its raining ... its really for when you're driving through flooded streets.

3. Sorry, can't help ya there ... Can you be more specific?

4. No Sarona, imho its too flashy. I'm probably going to go with the OEM kit personally.

I too have notice a sound similar to what you have described coming from my TL. I only notice it when I have the windows down, and only once in awhile. I was wondering if it was possibly the break dust shield. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the AEM V2 CAI w/o a bypass filter. It's not that loud when you're cruising at low RPMs, but it roars when you floor it. I drove in a thunderstorm right after I installed my CAI w/o any problems.. I don't think the bypass valve it necessary.
