Dude, listen to what all of us here are saying and read the manual as well.
It is really clear and explains everything well.

I wasn't gonna say anything 'cause I usually already knew what type of questions were gonna be in this thread, but you said it the best.

Something bad is bound to happen if he doesn't learn the basics of his car. Please take this as constructive criticism.

tjkazai, do you have an owner's manual?
Here's an online version: 2002 TL Online Reference Owner's Manual.
And here's the section about the Automatic Transmission.

I would be more than happy to send you a hard-copy of the owner's manual if you don't have one.

NinJai:
15 and you have no clue what you're doing in a car, mind you a luxury car with too much horsepower -_-, use the search button. I'm so tired of new members coming in and making a thread because they're too lazy to search around.

I obviously do know what Im doing In a car.. I know how to drive.
You think I drive 100 on the street? I obviously do the rules.
I'm asking questions fool just answer it.

And I did re-search most didn't give me exact info and if you don't wanna help? you don't need too remove your comment.
That's what good people do help.

Hope your parent's taught you that.

I do have an owner's manual.
I read it.

I'm not a fan of those "long unkown words"
It's a hardcover.

Just look at the table of contents, look for a section covering your topic, then look in the sections table of contents for sections that apply to you or that you might find interesting.
Lots of little tricks and tips.

Ok , thank's
I'm just thinking of removing the intake resonator instead..
But I'm afraid ill break or ruin something.

So correct me if im wrong..

The Resonator is a box that has air inside? and it traps it inside for "intake" ?

Please correct me.

The resonator also helps reduce sound.
I would recommend you get a K&N filter for you car as well.
It should come with some nice stickers as well witch you might like.
You do not throw out your K&N filter when it gets dirty, you wash and oil it using a kit that's about 15$ CDN.

Ohhhhh OK!
I googled it..

Under my hood its a plastic part.. on the right side.
._.

What is that called?
and What does the K&N Filter do and how much does it cost? $15?

Is there a DIY of how to install the filter?

Go to CrapyTire and ask for one for your car.
K&N filters argueably breathe better and last "a million miles" - witch they actually do - and some.

Its in the manual how to replace it - if you need help.
By observation, you can most likley figure out how to do it.
Most people can figure out how to do it on any car just by observation.
I was arround 13 when i changed my dads 300zx filter by myself - my dad was there, but i installed it correctly without assistance.

Its a really really simple task if you just open the hood and look.

Unless someday your getting a cold air intake get a K&N as it will help you get some gain form your resonator removal.

i like how he said he read the manual, yet he doesnt seem to have learned anything about the car what so ever..

you should stick to driving for about 1 or 9 years before hitting 88 and going to 1955...

and my advice...

read the manual.. and YES, for real this time.

seems like you want more sound while your driving? then get the mid muffler removed. rather than driving around in a low gear all the time, which is terrible.

there are two problems our cars have and i suggest thinking about the next time you floor these cars.

motor mounts and transmission.

search for info on how to check your motor mounts and see if they need to be replaced, most dont last more than 30-50k miles. by 70-80k miles, you will need new mounts.

there are tons of info on our tranny problems, i suggest reading them. Put it in in D5 and drive normally, dont screw around with SS a whole lot.

treat your TL nice, and it will last. beat on it and it will turn into shitton of trouble.

Planning to remove it.

Its not hard...look at the bumper, figure out whats holding it on, and remove all the clips/screws

There are 2 bolts holding the intake resonator to the air box, find them and remove them...badda bing you're done
