Post question for those who scratched the body kit

i guess it would only apply to the front lip....

did you hit it on a curb (parking)?
or due to an incline in the road?

oem kit, no drop. will i have problems getting into certain lots?

how much does it 'lower' it?

dude if your car isnt lowered, you shouldnt have problems with scratching the factory kit...the front part probably gets about an inch and a half lower than your stock lip...

Throw away any reservations you might have if your car isn't lowered! Trust me, I was just as cautious. After I got my kit, before I got it lowered, I drove slow over bumps and never ever scratched it. You can clear a curb with the kit ifyou aren't lowered.

With a drop you cannot clear a curb. However, my kit is not scratched. I'm very careful. Learn how to drive sideways!

In the immortal words of SnooK himself... "dude, the TL is weak without a kit".

The kit makes your car look so much better, it is one of the best mods I've done!! Get one, you'll love how much better your car looks.

I have one battle scar on the front left, and that just because I just got the car and I got too close to one of those concrete parking bumpers. (Which happened to be the size of a house.) No problems at all since.

Dropping it in a few weeks w/ springs so I'll let you know.

Just replace it 'cause that's what did. It costed me $499 for both the labor & a new front lip at my dealer. A month later when I went back for service and the f****** dealer scraped for me and of course I didn't notice it until two days after. Thus, they denied the whole f****** thing. So, I just left the way it is and live with it because I'm not about to spend another $499 to have it replace again. This is why I hate to bring my baby to the dealer for any type of services.

The front chin of my factory kit has a scratch on each side. The scratches are small that unless you really look you won't see them. I did it last year when I got the car. I hit one of them concrete parking stops. I also think I did the same thing to the other side. I noticed the other scratch when I was also parked by one. I have had the kit about as long as I have had the car over a year. I did the damage last year & no new damage has been done. I tried to put touch up paint on it but it peeled off.
My car is not droped so if you get it just take it easy going into driveways take it at angle slow. Also watch some of the concrete parking stops & curbs. Some of the curbs & stops are higher than normal. But get the kit it gives the car a better look.

Again... Just think of it as a disposable front lip, just replace it everytime you scratch it!
